I just want to make sure folks know that I'm not sitting around
delusional and hype over any of this stuff. I just wanna make dope shit.
I think some people want to believe that we think we should be rocking
stadiums because we were on the myspace front page. LOL! YEA RIGHT.

we are an opening act right now...in my opinion a pretty good one. we're
not out here opening though, they got us "headlining". so were not
packing out the hole in the wall spots. the worst crowd was in asheville
last november...maybe like 8 people. a lot of times its 20 to 40 folks,
but that's cus the crowds don't know us like that. but know who does
know us? the people that drive 2 to 4 hours from their town to the show
on a weeknight. the people that shake my hand and say "I'm a big fan,
keep doing it man...". the people that say "I looked for moonlighting
for like 3 months and finally found it! can you sign my cd?". the people
that catch the show in their town, and still drive out of their way to
see it again in the next town the next night. they know us.

ima be honest, I'm usually quiet during any gloating. and this aint to
blow anyone up, there's nothing wrong with being proud of yourself. its
just because I personally aint got shit to gloat about. I instead wait
around for the negative.

to those that are watching and keeping a checklist of the negative, I'm
watching with you, lets compare notes.

the difference is when I fix those, I'm a better person. you just got a
checklist.

to those that listened to the podcast today I wasn't joking! I'm f-cked
up in the game haha...its a bad day when I haven't listened to music all
day other than what's on the tv. anyway onto what you care about:

the bridge ep is still almost finished. one of the producers has to
finish his beat and ilyas has to send me 2 verses (he probably sent them
today I haven't turned my computer on) then it'll be pretty much
wrapped. then the mixtape with dj soul has also started which will be
more of a tanya morgan 101 for some new fans. there will be about 3 or 4
new songs on that too though. then that lp we keep talking about!
brooklynati is just waiting to go into production but we have to finish
the other projects first. there's plenty of songs that are started
though so its not going to be rushed at all. right now it does have that
90s feel we're known for, but its like...hard to explain, its new but
still throwback. the demos remind me of the main ingredient meets
baazare ride 2 the pharcyde right now. the people that have heard demos
(in person) have said moonlightings ass is kicked already. man I just
hope they're right.

in other news i finished the hov remixes and ive been getting good reviews from the few folks that heard it.

im supposed to now be working on the new Tanya Morgan EP "The Bridge" and I THANK THE LORD that its so close to being done already. well, the songs are all songs we've done in the past 6 months just to do, but they have to be put together as a cohesive project, and theres a few songs that have to be rerecorded and like 2 or 3 to do from scratch. i have mad respect for those that make great music and can survive all the other shit while trying to make great music. i need a rap big brother and shit haha...like, buckshot or somebody to talk me down from the rap cliff every other week lol. its not that its work, its just really difficult sometimes to keep it goin and theres still so far to go...but go where?!?!!? i want to be a non-broke legendary nigga in 15 years. thats it. somebody get buck on the phone asap.

this isnt a "rappin is lame i quit..." entry i didnt mean to go off on that tangent, this is about the jay z shit being finished and to let you know that the new TM EP "the bridge" will be on its way come march or so. then the full album around the summertime. american angster will be available for download sooner than christmas now, look for it next week.

promoter: paid without having to be tracked down
our performance: we werent ready to go from not performing for a while to 40 minutes but we pulled it off enough
accommodations: hotel 6 in the building! nobody was shot while selling drugs during our stay. win.

asheville north carolina
crowd: who? wha?
promoter: cool guy but it take money to make money, money.
our performance: we performed for the openers and the 7 people walking around and they loved it
accommodations: i dont wanna talk about it

charlotte north carolina
crowd: large de la soul following
promoter: paid once we found her in the club across the street
our performance: a speaker fell on my ankle and we kept going thats a a plus off the top haha
accommodations: college friends of don and ilyas and the coolest couple in NC. i still say the worst part of touring is having to impose on people/find someone to crash with on certain stops (we need that tourbus popping)

chapel hill north carolina
crowd: small but hype
promoter: i dont even remember, with all due respect at this point i was just ready to leave nc. that monday was the longest day ever
our performance: this one was a lot of fun to me. they didnt have a cdj and we had to use a discman :-( but we made it work.

crowd: danny (d swain!) and off duty strippers were in the crowd. great crowd already!
promoter: awesome! she didnt show up until after the show which had me worried, but she came through like "whats up sorry heres your money...and heres some more money for a hotel...and hey maybe if you find some girls heres some more money for liquor or whatever...you guys have a good night"
our performance: doing all of that energetic shit at the end officially started to wear on me at this point. not complaining, but from this point on i just began to dread the final 2 songs. i dont know how people do 2 hour shows and whatnot

cincinnati ohio
crowd: nice crowd! it was looking shaky for a minute but a lot of people came at the last minute
promoter: paid in full and let us draink a few
our performance: good minus the super loud accapella monitors i literally thought i was gonna damage my eardrums and shit lol...joints were LOUD AS ALL HELL. this was a really fun performance.
accommodations: it was home for il and don! we were straight

lexington kentucky
crowd: mad cunninlinguists fans (it was their album release party)
promoter: kno knows how it goes so of course an artist made fellow artists feel comfortable and shit...paid!
our performance: i think the people dancing and screaming and nodding and waving and etc....was a good sign.
accommodations: back to cincinnati

crowd: pretty good crowd
promoter: great dude. everything was fine.
our performance: it was iight. i can point out things that brought the performance down but i wont make excuses. it was only iight.
accommodations: the smoking jacket (after-partying on the road is super super super super super super super super overrated)

crowd: decent but not enough
promoter: another cool cat. where were these cool promoters on the new royalty tour? van damme. aside from everyone being cool, everyone actually PAID! WOW!
our performance: i was wack because i was officially sick by then, but don was really everywhere so he made the show. i got worried for a second when he straight up stopped when his mic cut off early on, but he came back and him and il held it down.
accommodations: they stayed at the holiday inn and i slept on the bus back to brooklyn.

now what?
in my perfect world id find a job i didnt mind going to and id go to it for a few months while working on the tanya morgan ep that comes out around march 2008. id also take that job money and renovate my "studio" situations. i dont know whats next for me personally but i do know im about to lie down an get some rest.

nah lol

last night was bugged out. i was gonna talk about this on the
spitkicker blog but i want to just put it here and ill think of a
cooler blog for spitkicker...my next spitkicker blog will be mad
thought provoking and shit son!!!

so we got to the venue and the promoter or the house didnt have any
music. to play at all! AT ALL!!! so we went to the car and got some
cds for them to play. they played getback (including the skits) and
when it went off we got on stage haha...charlotte was like new york.
they just looked and nodded a little...BUT when we got off stage they
applauded mad loud and we sold mad cds and i heard the people were
telling don and ilyas they really liked it. i went out and spoke to a
few cats in the crowd and they gave props but i had to hop back stage
and sit my behind down. like 3 songs into our set a speaker fell from
the side of the stage and landed on my ankle and i had to keep moving
like it didnt hurt. BUT BOY DID IT HURT. its still sore right now but
i can walk a lot better today than last night.

i was just in the back mad as hell and talking on the phone. then the
promoter came back there like "oh...uh...your leg? wow...im
sorry...uh..." and someone then came and helped wrap my leg up. then
the de la rider stuff started coming in you know the tea and the
fruits and the water and the CEREAL! lol i dont know why thats so
funny to me. they had cereal.

anyways they came back there and it was cool to just see them in their
element before they do a show. pos came and sat and was just chilling,
dave was on his phone, maseo was running around getting ready to dj.
he turned grand vonye off (yea the club was forced to listen to grand
vonye because we were the djs until de la got there. assholish haha)
and the party got started. as midnight hit i was on the side of the
stage watching de la soul rock...what a way to turn 26!!!! yea its my
birthday today and we dont have a show today so were just hanging out.

and we got paid after tracking the promoter down for a while. thanks.

mayne! miko and doug thanks for EVERY THING. sheesh, people letting
you stay with them on the road is like....heaven sent. seriously.

vibing. we had about....10? one big fan was there with his boy cliff,

thanks to those that came out especially my 2 peoples that shall remain
nameless because they don't do it for the fame (I'm just trying to make
it sound cool lol) thank you guys. 2 other guys drove 2 hours too, but I
known yall longer so I appreciate it more haha...

I'm really really tired and maybe my tiredness has me grumpy or
something but I'm much more greatful than happy or amped or
anything...regarding the success of the show tonight. the crowd wasn't
packed but they were so dag on (yes, dag on) energetic and we were too.
it was really fun up there. right now I just want to rest though. back
on the road to asheville north carolina tonight (meaning the 9th).

things went right, no funny business, no drunk n hot girls stripping,
no trashing the hotel room. we are all just chilling. I'm not for all
the extra nonsense! all that stuff is only my scene in theory haha...

I hope things continue to go good. ima keep praying on it, you know, I
gotta thank god cause he gave me the chance to rock haaaarrrrrrrd! (c)

as you might know tanya morgan is about to jump in a rental and go do some shows. call it a tour if you want. well it is...a short tour but a tour and we have been struggling to put this together for a while now. its hard to juggle regular life and rap life and thats why its so hard for us to go out sometimes but now we are going at it again. NY ill be back around november 20th.

but for now...come to the show! bring people with you! buy a 5 dollar cd! if you ballin buy a tee shirt! wish me a happy birthday! (i just decided since my birthday is November 11th, the whole tour is my birthday party.)

to let you know that we ended up winning the xm radio/myspace "show em
what you got" competition. we went on and there were 3 judges/xm radio
djs that basically said they appreciated the lane we were trying to be
in. the other 2 acts had a more mainstream sound and we thought that
would be in their favor but it ended up being in our favor! I don't know
what's next as far as the prize and all of that but more information
should be on myspace.com/xm.

I'm about to go to the airport in an hour and a half and that's probably
the wackest thing in the world right now but this has been a great
trip...peace!

had a dream last night

i owed credits in high school and had to go back...like that adam sandler movie. but i had music classes too...strange thing is the are was in my music class. the only "cameo" in my dream and it was the are! lol thats mad random because i havent seen him in weeks. anyway i kept trying to go to music class and id go out one door and end up back outside, or on another side of the school, or something like that. there was this one odd stairway that definitely challenged my fear of heights because there were no rails to it and it was like a 5 story drop. i fell and landed...i thought you dont do that in dreams! i got up and walked into the lunch room then the janitor grabbed me like "hey do you go here you look too old to go here! and i woke up.

i took that as a sign to start working on "peas gotta..." again. you know, since its about high school. im working on one of the few that i produced right now...its almost just a drum break, it reminds me of this slim thug song "i aint heard of that" but its an actual drum break not programmed, and...its just some...for lack of a better term..."raw shit"...damn im trying to not use typical rap terms lol

Tanya Morgan has been doing business and more business and more business but the results are we're going out on the road to do a few dates for a week or two. this shit knocks yo...i didnt realize how much i listen to this until i picked the cd up and realized it came out in 2005. i bought it the day it dropped and i didnt even know it was dropping, i just went to fat beats because the designeriknow fwmj told me he was going to kevs in store and i said id roll with him. its roughly 2 years old and ive never stopped "casually throwing it on" so that must mean this is one of my favorite albums right? wow...this is like an intervention "von...we wanted to talk to you. weve noticed you listen to this album a lot. von...its one of your favorite albums youre not just casually playing it. its been 2 years von"

not that this is some guilty pleasure shit at ALL, i just never get to talk about it because when i tried when it dropped folks were like "its too laid back sleepytime blah blah" this shit is heat. if "say sumthin" is laid back to you, you must listen to "bombs over Baghdad" all day. the majority of the album knocks like a muhfucka and on some producer shit for him to make a whole album with basically the same (sampled) instruments is ill to me. thats like having an electronic band. the whole album is drums and strings.

It does scare me that were not really working on it though. I think we should take one month and work on nothing but brooklynati...all 30 (or 31) days. no collaborations, no solo stuff, i wont do any outside beats, nothing but that...with the head start we've had for a while, the bulk of the record could be knocked out in that month...

canada was fun. we stayed on suites on this college campus...i always thought all dorms were alike but the suites had bedrooms. thats dope. i dont know my infatuation with college dorms but stayin in the suite helped. i enjoyed that. that was in hamilton...then we went to toronto and did 2 shows there. all was well and nouveao riche made a new fan (in me)

so i went to GIT-TAR center and bought a regular 4 channel audio mixer trying to "step it up" on a budget but i got home and realized...fuck that shit. if it aint broke, dont break it. forget trying to fix it...dont break it! so i went back and got this joint. it was more money (that i didnt have) but its a necessity. man its such a rush to plug some shit right in and GO...withthat audio mixer i was scratching my head like "hmm okay i need a new cable for this...where do i..." but with a regular ass dj mixer i literally JUST plugged it in and recorded something. and guess what? shit is clearer then that janky lineartech. the buzz that i used to have to filter out doesnt exist in this recording i just did...see? better already.

i know im ghetto with it but lo fi is me...its my thing...when the money is right ill upgrade. next up is a soundcard built for music (not looking forward to installign that) and im gonna get more ram at the same time, then finally a new mic. aka i gotta go hand out some more fliers soon. lol

i started "grand vonye" back in 2004...early 2004 at that. then i...oh the name. like grand marnier but vonier looks like "von-yea-r" and vonye looks like "von-yay!" and thats how we say "grand mon-yay" anyway...maybe thats another rap pronounciation massacre like "may-back" and "chris-staal" LOOKWHATEVERTHECASETHESHITISCALLEDGRANDVONYE.

and i dont care what you think about that name! im sorry, i just have a complex now that people are listening...like, i think i have to do what i think they want now. maybe i spend too much time online looking at criticisms but i know people nitpick and come across like eddie in MJ's "remember the time" video...sitting there waiting to be entertained and if they dont like it you're fed to the lions. i dont like mixtapes. i know the lessondary has nuff mixtapes between them but im just not into mixtapes anymore. i love the clipse but i dont even listen to the "we got it 4 cheap"s like that. i mess with mixtapes that are basically "street albums" like spec boogies' "brassknucleraphustle" and little brothers...all the mixtapes they do (haha) because its mostly original songs (meaning not rapping over an instrumental).

but grand vonye is something that i left to collect dust back in 04 and donwill would ask about it every once in a while. that was the only meaning it had...one person asking about it (haha) i dont know why im finishing it, because i hate mixtapes! actually i do know why...because in the back of my mind i miss the experience of recording nobody's "what album?"

that was a week to myself recording shit for no reason. not for a chess move. just recording shit. call me too much of a romantic but i just like the feeling. doing songs so so and so can hear it or so and so can put it on this and get it to that person etc. is...im kinda over it already. no political shit i just wanna do songs and have em come out dope. theres hardly anywhere to buy cds from anyway! the record stores are closed down! get a job already! leave me alone! bitch im broke! so im working on making the slowest rap song ever. but reasonably slow, it may not be the slowest ever, but 62bpm is pretty damn slow.

not a south bounce song, not a screwed song, not a love song, a regular rap song...its tough though because its a story song and the story isnt going anywhere, its like....someone is telling me something and they keep telling me the same thing, but i have to turn it around on them at the end. i have to brainstorm on it and figure out where the story is going to go, but im not with the surprise ending thing anymore..."1st date" was enough.

the beatmaker is on the track....you can do pro level ice skating to the joint. figure skate to the beat! hip hop ice ballet. yea, hip hop ballet on ice. thats what it sounds like. like its some shit tanya harding would listen to, you know shes a G.

beat street records (when it comes to brooklyn beat street is to music what juniors is to cheesecake...though i prefer burger king cheesecake because im ghetto), tower records (che, don and i went there yesterday. we called it the "hip hop is dead" sale. they had full legnth cassettes 10 for a dollar and rap cds for $1.50.) and so many other stores. while i was in tower i seen the dollar cds and i said "man i can just download this and save my dollar" and the next second later the artist kicked in like "NIGGA WHAT?!!?!?!??!" its like the poor consumer was on one shoulder and von pea was on the other. lol...but see i love buying cds, a brother just aint got it right now. i did buy every cd i wanted this year except snoop, but i made my brother buy it and ill get it for myself later.

as much of a control freak as i am i cant see walking into a studio, putting the session in someone elses hands totally and just recording. im gonna go crazy! i know/knew that it had to be better sounding from this point on but i was banking on improving the home recording so things could still be in my/our hands. che grand has been tripping down to allentown PA to record his album. i went down with him to load up the songs i produced and do rough mixes and that studio is real ill....but then again i cant imagine leaving my work in the studio and i get home and cant hear it/tweak it. also im good for rerecording something as many times as i have to to get it the way i hear it in my mind. i can count the amount of times ive worked in a "real" studio on one hand. every time its been me settling.

so yea when i finish being broke (haha) im setting up shop. i have a lot of people i can talk to about mics and shit and id love to get the sound quality up on my own terms. its not that hard! yall dr dre niggas? throw your wu tang albums away or stop being hypocrits! lol

so now that them shows are over let me tell ya whats been up.

earlier this week it was kind of like "WE HAVE TO GET IT TOGETHER! WHATS GONNA HAPPEN TO US!?!?!?!?!?" but now its like...just keep it moving. we did damn well! not to mention...none of us should be stuck with "tanya morgan". tanya morgan is ilwil and von pea. not on no breakup shit, but we gotta remember that tanya morgan is madvillain. it was a side project. the album is called moonlighting for a reason!! we just ended up becoming popular off of the side project. we had plans to do 3 albums from the beginning and thats still a go, but while theres no new TM album til 08, we can still work to get the dayjob albums out. (get it?) that would suck if nobody wanted to hear the ilwil album without me, or my album without them. maybe by the time bknati is ready itll really be like a supergroup project AND a reunion in one fell swoop! ha!

i was thinking about living off of making music...if i only lived from music id probably have to do a lot of things just for the money. jay z should have said "you from the era where selling outs the shit!"

LOL...dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with "selling out" on some fly shit. like being in a video game or getting your own shoe, or even that common gap ad is dope.

haha...maybe i dont see the bigger picture yet but i want to put out product i completely stand behind and not drop shit all the time/work with everybody because the rents due. its funny, now i watch tv and everything just looks like a check. celebreality, cell phone endorsements in your video, all the side hustles. im really thinking hard right now about what i want to do. im not down with doing anything half assed for a check...well when it comes to music anyway. ill take a job and half ass it all day. do my job for the check and make sure that the only time i ask for peoples money is when i fully stand behind whats on that cd.

okay now where the hell do i begin....

friday night we performed with strange fruit project, kaze, sean price, douja raze, and bekay...

the show went pretty good. median, oddisee, illmind, k slack, and who knows who else was in the crowd, along with our supporters and our co-d's (spec boogie, bennie guinness, nonameko, elucid, aeon....nigga the gang was there!)

saturday we tried to go see the halftooth show in alphabet city but we had a show to be at by 2am. ive never been that tired in my life....walking at least 10 blocks to the halftooth joint then having to run back to the train to our own shit and missing the whole damn halftooth show!

we got to ours on time though....actually we didnt go on til 3am!!! the juggaknots, j live, polyrhythm addicts, pumpkinhead, fresh daily, and ralph mcdaniels were all in the back chilling. dj automatic (remember the tour we were on when this blog started?) came to the show too...i heard wajeed was there, and donwill just told me truth enola was there and was talking to him afterwards about how we were dope and shit....im happy as hell that we got to rock and all of these people seen us rock...i hope that shows that we are a valid group and not some internet novelty act with a girl name.

breezely brewin and j live said they been waiting to see us rock...uncle ralph had been waiting to get our video when dj jer2 gave it to him...now that i think about it there was a dude in the front row that was stonefaced for half of our show...then by the end he was feeling it...that was truth enola! wild shit man. you would think this is shit that would gas me....this stuff is super humbling man because its like...these cats all are playing a role in what keeps hip hop relevant. so now its like...wait...are we apart of that now? are we? am i? damn im on some "were not worthy" idish. you name one of my favorite artists and chances are they've shown us some kind of love one way or another. i walk in fat beats or amoeba and half of the people on the racks are mutual fans. what. the. fuck.

Thanks to everybody that came out to the DC jawn...Kev i wanted to say thanks but you dipped out quick!

The show went pretty well but...and this is gonna look like im trying to dis but im not...Mello D went for like 40 minutes...i mean damn he should have been the headliner for all that! were not tripping on order, i prefer going early as possible so he could've/should've went after us with such an elaborate & legnthy set. When we finally did go on the crowd enjoyed it and they were jamming with us. Afterwards we took some flicks with Jati Lindsay and went to breakfast and went the hell to sleep. Che Grand performed too so i drove down with him, our peoples Tim (thank you again Tim), and P.S. from Ches joint "Gold Chains". We got there and had to go right to XM radio for the Subsoniq show with K Murdock from Panacea...we took over the show yall...i think its gonna air in November....be on the lookout for that...then to "soundcheck" (theres no such thing as soundcheck...its a myth) we left like 10 minutes later and came back for the show and you read about the show a few lines ago...im on some tarantino ish son!

its CMJ week and we've just been chilling for the most part. Because of our experience last year, I always think CMJ is about having a grocery list of things to do to further your career within this week, but that hasnt been the case and i honestly am not tripping...lol. wheres the free beer. no question mark, its a statement.

when we started this tour, our show on saturday was the last date so once again i consider that the end. its almost over!!

why does it feel like i been away for a year?

actually ive been home since tuesday night. im gonna make myself leave the house tonight. i have had ZERO desire to leave this house at all. as much as i wanted to go hang with my girlfriend (not that its anybodies business but...no lol) i had to pry myself out of the door wednesday to travel to see her. ive had enough traveling for at least a week!

we we have a show in DC sunday night then its cmj week...should be...no WILL be loads of fun. when the team is in nyc i always have a ball. we dont know whats next for us but im trying to move this music to have some pocket change until we come up with the master plan (or find jobs lol)

the tour isnt officially over in my mind until the sunday show. CMJ doesnt count because it was the next step after tour but it wasnt apart of it...with that said ill attempt my massive retrospect blog sometime next week...but im gonna keep this joint alive for all things tanya morgan from now on. itll eventually become the "recording of brooklynati" blog and etc....

okay so we had a brother come from arizona and a woman come from SWEEDEN. TO SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA. now obviously they didnt come only to see us, but they came to see us as a priority. the show with trackademicks wednesday was fun but the benefit joint was even better. that one went down last friday. spank pops (thanks for the shirts....yall need to check out donwills blog to see the crazy sh*t we got from True East out in wallnut creek...crazy!) also peformed at that one and we all pretty much did our thing. no money issues because it was all for track to get his studio back up and running...honor roll camp is pretty cool. i will say this much...the bay is driving me to the poorhouse!!!! when we got here we were eating 10 dollar meals...now its strictly the 2.49 jump off at church's chicken. jack in the box is fine dining right now man. the misses asked me if i was eating right...uh...im eating??? Ian put us on to some healthy drink the other night thats good but damn i go home in a week its too late for this tour! lol...

yo...this people traveling to see us thing is crazy. you know how far sweeden is? people coming up to me like "yo man im a big fan...respect keep doing your thing" or even "YO! I LOVE YALL SHIT!" im not used to it and i hope i never take that for granted...

they came and performed and sh*t...no harm done, no fights, none of that. i WILL say it was pretty obvious that one person wasnt messing with us and vice versa, but you know i dont got any beefs with anyone. i dont know where they are on the tour right now, but man i think everyone that got in that truck back in september will agree that this tour was the most janky shit ever. lesson learned by all of us. i thank them for that.

Tonight we finally said the wrong town on stage. Man that shit was
scary. Haha...we played it off, I think. But I learned something
tonight. Never expect to be the best show. Bottom line...lets keep it
all the way real...every artist wants to knock em dead on stage, but
some of us are sometimes like...well...most hip hop shows are low in
energy and our show isn't so we usually have that angle cornered.
Tonight we performed with eyezon and truthlive and they had the ill
energy and they worked together well on stage, so it was like ok we
have to step our "jump around the atage" game up...and we had a FEAST
prior to the show(thanks to the del benes) so we were fat bastards on
stage. Oh don't get me wrong we did our thing haha...the crowd really
enjoyed us, but I just know I was tired as hell.

im sitting in my stunna shades blogging....WHEN IN ROME. i went to wallgeens and got some 5 dollar big grandma shades. i should have had them on today ont he bus. mad teenagers were on the bus in all black like the e 40 video. i felt like a 50 year old tourist. i was like woooooooow they might go dumb! this will be great! do it! do it! go 18 dumb! please!

so on friday we performed with nicolay and that went real well. we did we be, so far, and von sees. the crowd did the "yaaaaay" part in von sees so thats AWESOME. i dont know what else to say about the show but it was dope.

yo...san fran folks....haight street is the oddest shit EVAR. its like...take the whole downtown manhattan and give them all a blunt and a lenny kravits greatest hits record and you have haight street. golden gate park scared the hell out of me. woodstock 06. ameoba is still the sh*t though...i found a foster sylvers album from him as an adult...i didnt know that existed. i didnt buy it though.

I am extremely homesick!

We have been in oakland since monday and its been productive. We spoke
in front of 2 classrooms yesterday at santa rosa junior college. It
went pretty well...its a hip hop class and we just came in to talk
about what were going through and music in general. Later that night
we went to some club/party and I realized I need to be home. Lol...I
got in there and 5 minutes later I realized I had to be up today to
put posters up for the cali shows and to meet up with nicolay and then
the show tonight so there was no reason to be in there...I'd rather be
home with my family eating some of my mommas cooking...haha man I'm so
ready to be home! I won't be back on the east until the 27th....you
know what? Lets talk about grooming/hygene on tour. I'm changing the
topic.

Right now I'm in my labelheads building washing my whites and colors
together because I don't have enough whites to wash alone, or the time
to do that, but its all underclothes anyway so who cares? Haha...

And cutting your hair is wack because you're getting hair all over
someones sink or even in a hotel its a b*tch to clean up. I'm waiting
to make it to target so I can get some damn lotion and sh*t. I don't
want to get too metrosexual on yall lol but lets just say its hard to
encapsulate my suave' on the road.

Were driving through the rockies in colorado and...oh yea I can't talk
about them until the pictures go up on dons blog.

Yo...niggas said we got em kicked off the colorado date and trying to
call us shady. The colorado cats wanted tm apart of their show because
we worked with them a few months ago and it went nice. They couldn't
get us because we were on this tour but once that tour became too
shakey and we left the colorado peeps still wanted us. They bought the
whole tour because we were on it and that's the bottom line. That's
not a dis, they simply wanted tm to come through again and said fuck
it whoever they with can roll too. Once we weren't with em anymore
those rules changed. I'm not gonna badmouth anybody but...that tour is
still goin on and they're doing mad shows without us and splitting the
money less ways, but now that we want to do our 3 or 4 lil shows its
an outrage. I promise you I'm not some fake dude acting innocent and
clueless...our plan was to stay on the whole tour and have fun
hustling and performing with those guys...but we had to go! I figure
we did them a favor. Instead of splitting money 9 ways they're
splitting it 5 ways now.

Ima be quiet about it now but ill close on this note: everything
happens for a reason. Colorado was dope. We performed with approach
and he's a real good dude. We invited a bunch of people on stage and
did karaoke to "aint no fun" by snoop and had women singing along on
stage hahaha...tanya morgan isn't conscious rap.

I'm out...oh yea. There was a money issue yet again but my mans and
them mysteriously got a new 2000 dollar guitar now so somebody bout to
get their eric clapton on.

Today we were on mania tv. And we interviewed with dj chonz. And we
ate food and went to the club with low key and THEN THE FUN STARTED.
We had to leave the party to go perform a quick 2 song set at a place
called the shelter. Man we got there at 11:30 and didn't perform til
1:30 after watching the hip hop dance off. Maybe I'm not real hip hop
anymore but at one club I watched women dance to "take the l" and now
I'm watching b boys. I'm not mad at the b boys but I wanted to watch
the women dance. I literally fell asleep on a couch in the back. We
got up there and we were wack!!! I don't have time to front. Wack
juice. I blame it on nobody it was just wack. Tonights show is the big
one though. Tonight meaning saturday night.

In other news I miss my woman. I like saying woman like that song "get
out my life woman"

so right now were in denver with dj low key. were not doing a show until saturday and on one end im defintely like "damn...no shows" but on the other we have some connecting to do wit a meet n greet and some other things this week. we'll be alright. i cant help but have a guilty conscience because im a sucker nice guy like that, but i know we didnt dis them by leaving. thats the last thing ima say about that...

were still on tour though...but its now the roadtrip royalty tour. haha...

we went from chicago to nebraska (stayed in a hick hotel...we squeezed in one room for 40 beans you cant beat it) and then to colorado. we were in nebraska listening to the ghetto boys with bandanas over our faces. okay i had a bandanna over my face. i figure hey if im gonna be uncomfortable because i think were the only black guys, im gonna be a jerk about it. lol...

i heard that the new royalty tour is still coming to colorado...are we gonna get beat up? i got mad insurance son.

speaking of insurance, verizon wireless is on some buellshat. donwill broke his phone 6 days into having it and they wouldnt let him get a new one. he has insurance but he has to pay 50 beans anyway. he paid it but they sent the wrong phone. what the hell?

i think we put too much on the line too soon, but maybe not? time will tell. i hope PS and tableek (with dj automatic) will continue to rock the remaining shows and im not even trying to be diplomatic about it...they are good people and good artists, but the setup wasnt right for us...by us being gone hopefully they'll have more dough and traveling and shit will be a lot easier without the extra 4 ways to split shit. once again its not like anyone was trying to ball, we were trying to make it to the next town and get places to stay and shit! i dont care who is reading this because this shit is for other artists it aint for promoters or whoever...i never read about shit like this. everybody wants to tell me what city theyre in and how nice it is and how they went shopping and they rocked the show and theyre tired and thats it for the whole blog...thats borrrrrrrrrrrrring. it leaves us thinking its okay to just run out and change your life to be on tour because niggas have us thinking its all good once youre on tour or once you sign the dotted line...it aint! im not complaining im warning! letting it be known!

for my "soon to tour one of these days" people, yea you have to sacrifice but dont depend on anything working out at all. dont depend on any hotels, any transportation, per diem, anything! use your own resources! meet people from myspace that live in that town or see if you have family in that town and maybe they can show you around or give you a place to crash just in case. always have a way to get back home from anywhere! know where the greyhound or the airport is! dont get out here and be depending on the tour bus or whatever to take you to the venue, from the hotel room youre depending on, then depend on getting paid so you can send some money back home so your brother can pay your bills for you while youre away (just an example). dont depend on any of that!

in other news thanks to chibrownskinnedlady (okp in the building) for showing me around the city of chicago...chicago is dope! millenium park is crazy! downtown is so beautiful man...as a new yorker i can safely say that chicago looks better (for tourists sake) then manhattan. new york we have times square which still bugs me out and i been there millions of times, but the stuff i seen yesterday had me feeling like moving. yea right im NYC til a hundred and 3, but you know what i mean...

Yall want the real? Were sitting in grand rapids in a van like an hour
after we finished performing and were about to go take the promoters
turntables as collateral because we didn't get paid. He's talking
about scion aint send the dough and mc sick and tableek want to take
the tables. F*ck that man lets go to the hotel. Now they're arguing
about it. Right now. Filthy and sick. I guess were going to the hotel.
Rap sucks man. Sucks! This isn't helping at all...this is wild. I'm
typing in real time I might as well continue to type.

The next time you're in your makeshift studio (like me) or in a studio
you're paying for with your paycheck and you want to make a hip hop
difference, remember this blog. We got like 5 more weeks of this. You
love hip hop? Me too, but don't romanticise the shit. You will not be
q tip on the roof of a cleaners. Or nas with an uzi in the army jacket
lining. Or jay z on a boat with white letterboxes surrounding you. If
you're lucky you'll be us right now, in a van blowing mad exaust,
headed back to a hotel with no money and the guys you gotta tour with
all mad at each other because we got jerked. This is hip hop music and
there is no honeymoon.

On a brighter side...people were singing along to "tanya morgan is a
rap group" and that's just a song on myspace.

SON. If niggas ask me for gas money I'm getting out and walking to the
next town. Barefoot. With a vase on my head. Y'all crazy man. 14
dollars after the split up. Hahahahahha...these niggas wild man. This
is entertaining I swear. I went to get some sleep after the hotel
check in but I made the mistake of buying computer speakers when I was
in cincinnati...I get in the bed and 5 minutes later ilyas and donwill
are singing along to the ghetto boys at full volume. Possibly the
first time they truly got on my nerves. Lol

Donwill was singing britney spears in the bathroom. In no way
whatsoever is that hip hop. Hahaha

But dig it we did alright tonight but we've been better. Me filthy and
kendra are in her car headed to the d d the da d d da d, the d d
y'all. We going to kick it and shit and rjcc of "okp delete your shit"
fame is driving like a stuntman.

If you book us and try to give us 14 dollars each ill personally hit
you in the face with a stale loaf of bread. Do remember.

If my math is wrong its because I'm sleepy. We got up yesterday and
drove from cincy to carbondale illinois for a show and then after the
show drove to ann arbor michigan, where we are as I type. Were
probably an hour from the d d, the d d d da d, dededeDE yall...

I stayed awake to help navigate our way here. An actual atlas is 20
times better than mapquest.

So carbondale was great. We got paid upfront and the crowd that chose
door b loved it. Door a was the pool hall 2 doors down that just
reopened and was free and had like...1 dollar beer and a cute chick
with a beer keg. The whole damn town was 2 doors down. They stole the
crowd haha...but like I said the people loved what everyone who
performed did.

Am I being positive now? That's not fun man!

Filthy cursed everyone out and said we shouldn't be trying to hang out
when we have a 10 hour drive. We didn't hang.

i was telling ilyas i didnt like the sound but he was looking at me like the sound was cool so i guess the sound was cool?

someone on myspace said this blog is scary...well yea. lol...

we aint get a got damned cent off of this show. in a home town. we went on 1am and put on a good show though...thank god for scion sponsoring the show...i got a sci...f*ck that im not doing a commercial. sorry. but i appreciate them though. the cd they got with wax po is the sh*t...and with them sponsoring well get some money...one day.

so about why nobody was there...thats our fault? we didnt promote it enough? or maybe theres no hip hop scene in cincy like that and it was a monday night at 1am? i mean im not here to give excuses all the money went to the soundman and that was only like a hundred dollars. im not tripping anymore though, piakahn (of reflection eternal fame etc) was there and he was like "man this is boot camp...this is the test if you make it past this youll be alright...you guys are gonna be alright"

so yea to recap no money was made tonight, we sold some moonlighting cassette tee shirts and a cd, the few people that were there enjoyed it, we rocked but i didnt like the mic sound, and...filthy is sleeping with his glasses on. i never seen someone sleep with glasses on before thats that new NEW sh*t.

its 4:25am and im not tripping anymore because weve all come to grips that this tour is janktastic and we just gotta live with that and pass the test.

we been hanging out in cincinnati since friday afternoon at ilyas' house and the show is tommorrow night in cincinnati at topcats. from there we hit a nice little stride of shows every night and that should be cool. im going to just make the best of a bugged out situation with this tour deal...i mean we found out today that some of these shows....okay let me explain it, i dont know how it usually goes, but this time shows are being sold as a package. so lets say the show for all 3 acts is supposed to be 5 dollars and that 5 dollars covers hotel and gas money. apparently some shows have been sold for 1 dollar, one or two hotels (for 10 people?) and no gas money. thats NUTS! lmao!!!! imagine traveling 4 hours to work every day and at the end of the week you make 20 dollars. haha!!!!

Okay lets recap...where we last left off pseudo slang was about to
miss the boston show because they got the van late. Well they missed
the show, but thank god we got paid anyway. Not as much as we were
supposed to though. The opening act bought the whole crowd! Good thing
he was performing...lol.

We came off wit 31 beans each. You can't be serious. Were supposed to
obviously get more then that and that's not going to cut it. That's
not cutting a damn thing.

We slept on a friends floor and got up the next day to meet up with
pseudo and get on the tourvan. We then met tableek and now its like 10
people in the van with mad luggage too. For about 8 hours from boston
to buffalo. We had to give up 120 in gas money. Do the math, do the
math...

We get to buffalo and big neeze and his friends are there. It was nice
to see a familiar face but we were already stressed because a we got
31 damn dollars the night before and b were not supposed to be paying
gas money and shit. Niggas broke.

That's like going to work and paying 24 dollars in train fare but you
make 6 dollars a week, then you have to chase your boss down for the
paycheck. Tonight we rocked buffalo man. 33 dollars a piece. Here's
the thing...if the crowd is small and its bullcrap "door money" with
no crowd? What are we dividing? Not much at all.

Oh yea...there's no show til monday in cincinnati so the 4 of us (tm
and filthy) are taking a greyhound to cincy to have somewhere to stay
til the show monday. I'm on the greyhound right now. We left right
after the show and now were on another 9 hour trip. Another expense. 8
hours and 120 in gas to make 33 dollars, then these greyhound tix and
another 9 hours traveling to this show in cincy which may be the same
shit. I'm dreading getting back on that tour van after cincy I really
am. So far this tour is super ugly and we can't live off 30 a night
after all the effort put into it. No hotel, no gas, no proper pay,
dues? Effa paid due this is just crazy were pulling money out of our
butt and its not right. Hopefully a better situation is around the
corner. Its 4:34 am and the bus leaves 4:40. I'm on vacation when we
get to the natti.

I love hip hop but this is rediculous. The poor tour 2006.

So the 1st show is tonight right...

Were in boston at the ughh.com store waiting to do an in store now and
we just found out that psuedo slang just got the tourvan and will be
late and they're 8 hours away. We need to be on that van to get to
buffalo tommorrow. So ps are supposed to come get us and then go
back?!??!!? 16 hours?!?!?? If they don't make the show then what? And
this promoter wants ps more than anyone else, AND its a door show aka
we get paid off the door. Like I said I'm keeping it real here and
this is lame. Its not ps' fault because they had issues with the van,
but damn we been here since sunday morning just waiting around, now we
may get dissed because...I don't even know if I'm making sense because
I'm typing on a mobile device. Ill let you guys know what's up later.
This shit may be over before it starts.

so we get on the greyhound to boston at 3pm....when we're in massachusettes (almost there) we get a call from young rooney (note: i think ima call everybody "young" in this entry for the hell of it) saying that his plane actually arrives MONDAY and not sunday, so we get to boston and were just...in boston. he had somewhere for us to stay, but hes not here yet so we're in a hotel instead, which would be great if hotels were FREE. haha...no transportation either. fun times fun times.

luckily theres a grocery store across the way (its not really a highway, not really a plain old street so its the way) and 7-11, and a bowling alley where it was "popping" (i guess) so there were people around. i had on my 10 deep hoody with the paint spots on it and some dude was like *weird face* did yout shirt COME like that!?!?!?!???

long story short we're kinda just...here. in the middle of boston. the show isnt until wednesday. psuedo slang and tableek dont get in til that day because theyre smart.

theres one 15 passanger van that psuedo owns, so once young rooney gets here we might just be stuck in the other shelter until the show day, but hey im excited to meet the other artists (again) and get this party (on stage) started. young blackjesus (ilyas) isnt here yet its just me filthy (young snatch) and donwill (young shirt)
