so im gonna revamp this blog a little
its definitely still going to be about me and my music, but i have to throw inspiration in here as well. what inspires me and why. also, this will make me want to blog a little more...
todays inspiration comes from Platinum Pied Pipers.
oh im not about to talk about it, f*ck that im hungry and its almost 1. i havent eaten yet and i have things to do! im simply linking one of my favorite PPP songs. lets talk about touring though. that tour aint going on anymore. why? who cares...lol
our bookin agent is trying to get us on this other joint though, i really wanted to hit the road with blu and them since im such a fan but everything happens for a reason right? yo...dont be fooled....we're holding on by a string right now. the new album is nothing but 3 or 4 really really really really rough demos and we havent done a show since the brooklyn hip hop festial. im tired of the song of the month shit but weve committed to it til december 1st and we got one hell of a jam for september 1st. thats only 3 left and i couldnt be happier. tanya morgan isnt all we got going on though, so dont think im sitting around mad that theres other stuff on the front burner. It does scare me that were not really working on it though. I think we should take one month and work on nothing but brooklynati...all 30 (or 31) days. no collaborations, no solo stuff, i wont do any outside beats, nothing but that...with the head start we've had for a while, the bulk of the record could be knocked out in that month...
im just thinking out loud, this blog entry isnt meant to say im sitting around waiting to work and they're not, we all have other things were doing right now. with that said the next TM album will NOT turn into some blackstarr shit...this album WILL be fully recorded and finished in 2008.
p.s. IM SO MAD IM NOT ON DREAM MERCHANT 2 SON! i was waiting in line to be on that album since i met 9th :-(

i want to thank Alma, Michelle, Dom, Ronnie, Ryan, Al, Ilyas, Don, Che, Spec, Noum, Bliz, all the interviewers, Dan, Ebony, Double O and Nalege, Torae, Fresh, Nola, Starr, everybody that caught us and enjoyed it, everyone that tried to catch us, and you for reading this.
this blog is lame because my mind is racing nowadays, im sorry about that folks!
im still workin on the new music. i came in here and caught my brother rocking out to the demos and made him turn it off and delete it from itunes haha...

canada was fun. we stayed on suites on this college campus...i always thought all dorms were alike but the suites had bedrooms. thats dope. i dont know my infatuation with college dorms but stayin in the suite helped. i enjoyed that. that was in hamilton...then we went to toronto and did 2 shows there. all was well and nouveao riche made a new fan (in me)
im looking forward to colorado this weekend with dj low key. this time che grand is coming out too to perform. it should be fun times. god willing next year we will finally have a lessondary tour with everybody with some music out.
to my folks from the last entry...yea those cities you named? we'll most likely be there. i hope.
and im still working, i know i stopped blogging about the recording of (new ish) but its still happening, im just being quiet about it lol

i dont have shit to say right now.
this is lighthearted though; im not depressed at all. did i use that semicolon right? f*ck it.
i just dont have anything i feel like rapping about right now, im interested in working on my production though. im gonna stop using "the beatmaker" name in a while. theres 2 albums i produced under that name and thatll probably be it ima just be von pea and stop confusing people in that regard.
i know i dont blog here a lot and probably lost all the luster from the tour blogs but well be back on tour in august im just finding stuff out myself. ilyas is helping put this together. i dont know if i can say who yet (have i said it yet?) but its someone new that we been ranting and raving about for a few months now and an established underground group who is always on tour so that makes me feel secure that this go round will be less janky. maybe.
p.s. some people been waiting for us to hit their town. i seen some of the dates; none of this is written in stone, but i will say were supposed to finally hit: san diego, seattle, detroit, florida, and houston

BACK IN EFFECT SON.
shout to my mother for donating 20 dollars and donwill for donating 5 dollars lol
so i went to GIT-TAR center and bought a regular 4 channel audio mixer trying to "step it up" on a budget but i got home and realized...fuck that shit. if it aint broke, dont break it. forget trying to fix it...dont break it! so i went back and got this joint. it was more money (that i didnt have) but its a necessity. man its such a rush to plug some shit right in and GO...withthat audio mixer i was scratching my head like "hmm okay i need a new cable for this...where do i..." but with a regular ass dj mixer i literally JUST plugged it in and recorded something. and guess what? shit is clearer then that janky lineartech. the buzz that i used to have to filter out doesnt exist in this recording i just did...see? better already.
i know im ghetto with it but lo fi is me...its my thing...when the money is right ill upgrade. next up is a soundcard built for music (not looking forward to installign that) and im gonna get more ram at the same time, then finally a new mic. aka i gotta go hand out some more fliers soon. lol

im trying to get back to working on that i have all the beats and some songs were recorded (that "slowest song ever" came out wack so forget it)
im not gonna get disgruntled but lets just say self untitled means too much to me to just put it out the way us underground dudes put albums out. you know, "if you cant find it in stores...." and all the distro headaches and shit. f*ck that times 50. id rather never put it out.
i got a special email today from someone that told me i inspire them. they been listening to me for a long time and today they said im inspiring and they been listening to grand vonye a lot. then if you read donwills blog you know a guy at a show said TM bought him back to hip hop, then he was sitting there quoting lines i said back in like 2003 and whatnot...so dope. i thank you folks. im about to go on a "i love music money aint shit" rant but i wont.
so heres whats going on with me:

was dope. i wish i had a passport though.

i was on the train for a very very very very very very very very long time. going wasnt bad because the HOURS went by fast but coming back was pretty bad. customs is a trip with all the questions on the train. next time im taking a plane damnit. when i get that passport (im going in the morning if its open on saturday...if not then monday. i tried to go already but i need a witness since i have no license. damn do i have ANYTHING?)
they probably dont even check this but just in case shout to everyone that held us down in canada. with all due respect to everyone that has given us a place to stay in the states while on tour/in town, i can safely say the good folks of toronto got me spoiled! claudine, cecilia, romeo, maria, everybody. yall made us feel like we all hang out all the time and we were only there for less than 48 hours. the actual show went well, i enjoyed it more then usual because i was playing dj too so id run back and forth between rapping and djing, but my djing was just dropping the beat out strategically. haha...in a perfect world id be able to really dj the whole set, but i do like rapping to the people as well so....eh thats not gonna work.

i am MAD restless
grand vonye is finished but thats not a big deal its just a promo.
so back to that "real shit" from back when i was on tour
since these promoters dont have any money i guess tanya morgan cant go back on the road huh?
i assure you were not asking for a lot but it always goes back to door dates. DAMN that
people have bills to pay....but since im not working im seriously thinking maybe i can just go. i mean the struggle isnt over...this doesnt happen overnight, and its not even midnight yet anyway. if we did something we'd be doing something ya dig? so maybe we didnt do anything at all?
its fun to blame people but its more fun to make money and good music at the same time so im more into that. im working on (more of) the good music, looking for the money, and blaming von pea for anything blame worthy.
